
Dr. Karen Hunt-Ahmed is an Assistant Professor of Finance and Management at DePaul University. She has received her BA and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis and an MA and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Before receiving her Ph.D. from The University of Chicago, she worked in the banking sector in Chicago and for Shuaa Capital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Dr. Karen Hunt-Ahmed is the President of the Chicago Islamic Microfinance Project, an economic development project started with partner Cynthia Shawamreh.
Anum Hussain is an inbound marketing manager at HubSpot, a marketing software company in Cambridge, MA, where she’s working to expand the business into the sales space through a digital content strategy. Off-the-clock Anum is the director of marketing for MIST, a national nonprofit scholastic tournament for high school students, and a lecturer for the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Anum graduated Summa Cum Laude from Emerson College, and her early strides in the marketing and social tech world have been recognized by reputable organizations such as MITX and MPAC. She was even honored as an emerging Muslim woman leader in business by The White House in March 2014.
