
Sohair Omar
Deputy Director, Illinois Finance Authority
Sohair Omar is the Deputy Director of the Illinois Finance Authority (IFA). She leads the IFA’s policy initiatives, including developing new programs to meet the demand for capital in emerging market sectors. Additionally, Ms. Omar is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and intergovernmental affairs of the IFA. Ms. Omar also serves as Co-Chair of Governor Quinn’s Muslim American Advisory Council, Board of Director of the Somali Women Association of Illinois and Member of the Iraqi Mutual Aid Society’s Advisory Council.
Ms. Omar holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts from Western Connecticut State University.
